Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we need to alter the way we do business - at least through the Fall and Winter leading into 2021. Here is how we plan to operate for the foreseeable future:
1. Puppy Pick Days will be conducted via Facetime.
The Puppy Pick Day itself will still be held on the Saturday in which the puppies are
five weeks old, and calls will be made in order of pick priority with the first pick of
the litter being called first, then the second pick, and so on... In addition to the Pick
Day itself, we will also add two additional opportunities to preview the litters. First,
when the puppies are three weeks old, we will hold a live, streaming Facebook event
to introduce each puppy individually. Any questions submitted during this event will
be answered in this live, informal showcase. Secondly, the day before Puppy Pick
Day, we will produce a special high-definition close up video including analysis and
description of each puppy. These videos are intended to help our customers to
screen the litter for the puppies they like the most.
2. Curbside Puppy Pick Up Days
In order to reduce the exposure footprint for both our customers and ourselves, our
Puppy Pickup Days will be limited to a "Curbside Pickup." This literally means what it
sounds like: we will pass your puppy and his go-home bag of goodies through your
car window and you'll be on your way! In order to accomplish this extremely limited
transfer, we will produce our Go Home Booklet with all the essential paperwork a
week in advance, email it to you as a .PDF file, and then conduct a phone call review
with you before the pickup in order to explain the booklet's contents and answer any
questions. Doing this advance work will allow the pickup to take place in under a
minute's time.
Some of the things that Covid-19 has not effected include (1) our weekly pictures of the puppies from age three weeks until they go home, (2) our Puppy Culture development program, (3) our AVID chip lifetime registration-for-free program and (4) our free scented Snuggle Puppy giveaway when every puppy goes home.
The new Covid-19 policies we have put in place do not make it easier for us; in fact, they make it more difficult and cumbersome. Additional calls, videos, Facebook sessions and work on the computer increase our workload for each litter. But we think these additional facets will provide our customers with the best possible experience under these deadly pandemic circumstances. If and (hopefully) when the situation allows, we will eagerly return to our old fashioned "in person" methods of greeting customers for Puppy Pick and PickUp Days!
